First Blogpost...from Mom

Sorry all, but this post is just from Sarah's mom, Megan. I wanted to start out with what I know, which at the moment is just what we've experienced.
Sarah was both thrilled and nervous to leave yesterday. I've been there, and I know how terrifying this step can be. She flew out of the Charlotte, NC airport about 8:30 am. We haven't received any phone calls from the MTC saying she hasn't shown up, so we're pretty sure she's tucked away with her companion right now, learning the ropes of both the work and the drastic change in lifestyle.
For my part, I thought after sending her to BYU last year for school, this would only be a little tougher, knowing I wouldn't be able to text or talk to her whenever. But the moment the stake president set her apart as a missionary, everything  changed. I feel her calling almost as much as I did my own all those years ago as I was set apart to serve. On the one hand I know she is all right, safe and secure as she learns the language and prepares to serve in Nicaragua. I also have a lump I hadn't expected sitting in my chest that I'm pretty sure won't leave until she comes off the plane in a year and a half.

I'll post as often as she sends emails home (which better be every week!!!). Feel free to share this link with anyone who would be interested, especially as I'm sure we will miss emails of interested parties.
